Mac Pro - SuperDrive won't read CD's

I just purchased a Mac Pro 8-core (Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Harpertown” processors).

I tried to install FileMaker Pro 8.5, and the SuperDrive won't read the CD. Nor will it read other CD's that I have.

However, when I insert the install disc that came with the computer, it will read that disc.

Any idea as to why it won't read "older" CD's?

have you contacted apple? your computer should be under apple care
