Contrary to popular belief, there is no "product cycle". Apple releases new machines when they're good and ready - and there is always a new upgrade on the horizon. Just buy the machine you need when you need it and it will continue to do the things you bought it to do long after an updated model is released.
Thread moved to more appropriate forum. Please read before posting in Rumors & Reports. Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics! |

Isn't the newest iMac not even a year old? My mom just got one they seem pretty up-to-date and good. Besides you don't want to be sitting around waiting for the newest model of everything. If you need it now, grab it now! Macs are fantastic and Apple is always surprising us with updates, you'll be happier this way.
