![]() Mac Specs: IMAC 500 GB 4 GB RAM

Hello,
I've been cracking my head trying to figure this one out. I purchased an IMAC with Leopard OS installed about a year ago. I partitioned the HD and installed Tiger to run the music software, Pro Tools. Everything has been well for the year but I now want to make a 3rd partition. I go to disk utilities and go through the partition process with no luck: I tried to partition through the Leopard OS and it says: Partition Failed Partition failed with the error: Filesystem verify or repair failed. I went to the First Aid tab, clicked the 'repair disk permissions' and 'verify disk permissions' tabs and everything was repaired but still no luck. Then... I tried to partition through the Tiger OS and it says: This disk contains the start up volume and can't be partitioned. I'm out of ideas. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Liquid and computers don't mix. It might seem simple, but we see an incredible amount of people post here about spills. Keep drinks and other liquids away from your expensive electronics! |
