this might be a dumb question but whats the max memory that i can upgrade my computer to. right now it has a single 512mb stick in it. thanks in advance!

Mac Specs: 17 inch 2 GHz C2D imac (5,1) with 3GB DDR2 RAM, X1600 (128MB memory) GPU - OSX 10.6.3

the8thark is offline
According to Mactracker:

2.5GB maxmium ram of this type.

240-pin PC2 4200 (533 Mhz) DDR2 SDRAM

You should only have one ram slot for ram according to the App also.

Btw you should download Mactracker from here. It's free too.
