iMac - Start Up disk what is it ?

Can anyone advise my imac has report and telling me that me startup disk is full what does this mead?. I looked at my hard drive and it reports that i have over 22gb left?

The Startup Disk is the disk that your iMac boots up from -- do you have an external disk that you installed OS X on or another internal drive? If so, you might have selected it as your Startup Disk. If not - then you might try resetting the PRAM (I doubt if this will do anything -- I don't recall the PRAM having much to do with startup).
