I purchased a mac mini (thank you economic stimulus act). While I havent received it (as its waiting in another state for me) I noticed that the CD-ROM read speed is only 24X. Isnt that kind of slow or is it just me?

Also is it considered the mac-mini pro if it is the higher powered version?

Same read speed as the iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro. The Mini is a thin machine and there is no room for a desktop drive. Everything in the Mini is a laptop part because of it's small size. So 24x for a machine that small is the norm.
