I love the iPod touch, and I don't own one yet. I'm hoping to acquire one over the holidays, now that they make 64GB ones. When my fiancee wants to check her email then I can just hand her the dang iPod instead of my whole laptop. WiFi connectivity ftw.

Oh yes. It's making my life so much easier. I'm used to being able to go to whatever room of the house I want to play around on the net. But since I'm using my ancient desktop and my mother's laptop with my own laptop gone, I'm tied down to one of two rooms (she has rules about where her laptop goes) and it's been driving me nuts. I was using skype from the can yesterday just because I was free (literally standing in the middle of the bathroom skyping, because I was skyping from every room of the house).

I don't use cell phones (I hate them), but this is making me almost want one... I'm beginning to understand the benefits of smart phones and the iPhone. I've always figured that a laptop/notebook was the most portability I needed, but this is ensconcing itself into my consciousness pretty quickly.

A bit of your luck must have rubbed off on me. I just had a similar situation with a Mighty Mouse shipment, but I was finally able to get it delivered.

Apple did say that they've had multiple problems, all of them with UPS (apparently they also use FedEx for some things and have yet to have any issues) so they're thinking there's something going on at UPS.

Actually, this was FedEx that messed up my shipment

Crazy! Who knows what's going on then. The world's just deciding to be a jerk? I dunno. I'm just hoping and praying nothing else goes wrong, because I'm moving in a week, now, and if anything else goes wrong, I'll either have to deal with changing my address in their system and who KNOWS what will go wrong then, or I'll have to delay my move! Honestly, if it comes to that, I'll probably delay my move rather than risk ANOTHER problem, though I'm moving to a city with an Apple store, so I might request that they ship my stuff to the Apple store for pickup if anything else goes wrong. (I've spent several long nights thinking through contingencies, with everything that's happened.)

The final update: It FINALLY came. Geeze louise, I thought I knew how much I missed having my mac--really hitting me now, though. It's so easy and intuitive compared to my mother's 17 inch behemoth of slow processing doom, or my several years old desktop. Mmmm... I could just sit and cuddle it, but that'd be creepy.
