I little bit of Microsoft bashing but very funny

When the Apple stores first opened, I thought they would suffer the same fate as the Gateway stores. However, I'm pretty confident the Microsoft stores will suffer the same fate. Probably more quickly too. I think the big difference between Apple and Gateway/MS is that you could already get Gateway/MS stuff at most big box retailers whereas Apple was more "exclusive", and had more appeal overall.

This is really a bad idea.

Instead of a Genius Bar (as Apple provides) Microsoft will offer an Excuse Bar. It will be staffed by Microsofties trained in the art of evading questions, directing you to complicated and obscure fixes, and explaining it's a problem with the hardware—not a software bug.

I've gotten this kind of "service" from people at Genius Bars too, which is why I only go to them when something is really broken and direct all other questions right here at M-F.

My guess is that they will probably try to emulate the Apple stores, but manage to get the mix wrong and manage to create another consumer turkey like the zune

English translation "We want to open some stores that only sell MS products so that people have a simple choice, us".

You know MS still wants to own Apple,and if something was to happen to Steve they may make there move. Then they would have stores...evil ones.

I don't think this will work out very well. You can buy a Microsoft PC in every nook and corner of the retail world, as well as online. Adding a store won't help, because the only reason people would go is to get help or to fix something. It would become more of a repair shop, not a store.
