We now have our very own IRC channel on freenode.net. Be sure to visit us at #Mac-Forums.

Since it's just starting out, there may not be much activity there until more users start hanging out. In the meantime, I'll try to organize a few times where we can get a big group there.

If you're looking for a good client try Colloquy or Conversation.

I have been there a few times and there was no one there, I felt very lonely

I'm there on and off during the day. But you're right, not many people there yet. We need to try and get a group in there so you're not so lonely

It's been ages since I've used/gone to an IRC channel! Some of us are new to Mac-Forums including myself, however, before I/we jump the gun, anyone care to give us the Pros and Cons for Colloguy and Conversation?

I dislike both. I use XChat-Aqua since I'm more familiar with it. XC-A is still in Alpha but it behaves fairly well.

The good way to get people to be hooked on IRC chats is to make "appointments" and post them here.
To avoid everybody to post a different date/hour, let the moderators set them.

Like "group chat sunday 9 PM EST"...

It's the way we do it on our PWC forums and it works pretty good...
