IRC? "How to Colloquy" by Fallooza (w/pics)
1. Download and install
Colloquy .
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Open Colloquy and select
File > New Connection

3. In the New Connection window
click the
Details tab and fill in and connect:
Nickname:
*your Mac-Forums user name*
Server Protocal:
IRC (internet Relay Chat)
Chat Server:
irc.freenode.net
Remember this connection:
*you can but dont have to. i'll leave it up to you*
Proxy:
None
Chat Server Port:
6667
SSL Connection>
*Unchecked*
User Name:
*your Mac-Forums user name*
Server Password:
*Blank*
Real Name:
*your Mac-Forums user name*
Join Rooms:
*Blank*
3.1. If you now come to a
Nickname Authorization Request window go ahead and click cancel.
...you can find out more about that once you are in the chat.

4. In the Connections window Highlight your user name and click Join Rooms

5. Type in the Chat Room and join:

IRC? I'll definitely have to check it out - does everyone use Colloquy or does anyone use anything else? I've got an Xchat Aqua set up for another channel...I'll have to give Colloquy a try.
