Hello all,

I am a new Mac user, I worked on windows for 15 years, and linux for 5. I recently got a Mac Book Pro for work. I set up the PPTP VPN but I cannot seem to access our windows shares. I am not sure why, but I cannot ping any of the windows boxes or connect to them. I know the PPTP VPN is working, I get a IP from the Company network but I haven't got the slightest idea why I cannot ping or connect to the windows shares. I am using the following under connect to server:

smb://server/share

to no avail. Any advice is appreciated.

Im running a Windows Server 2008 box with the same PPTP setup, when you are trying to access the files, im going to assume you have set up a DHCP range for VPN Clients ont he server, try connecting via ip address so for me it would look like this: smb://192.168.0.3/Programs
