Hello everyone,
I am upgrading from a powebook G4 to the 27 inch imac. I just can't decide if I should buy the dual core or the quad core.
I am a photographer who does some design work. I use photoshop and illustrator all of the time. I was told that the quad core is overkill. But is it really?
I want this machine to last. My current powerbook G4 is 5 years old and still running strong. It was the best at the time.
Will quad core be necessary? Will programs be designed for quad core in the future? I don't know but I don't want to regret not spending the money now for what may come in a few years.
Also, if I go quad core, do I just but the i5 or go for the i7?
Any input? Price is not a concern.
I appreciate your advice.
