I'm not sure if it voids it either?

But really the majority of people that would need to worry about trying to go higher than the max are more than likely people with older systems that are already out of warranty like me.

I have an eMac 1.42. When I get the money I plan on taking it up to 2gb and maybe even overclocking it a bit when I get good with soldering or find someone that is good enough to do it for me.
