Uh, pretty much every cell company charges for tethering, no matter what phone you have. Surfing from your phone is no where near as bandwidth intensive as surfing from your computer. It's their network. You pay for unlimited data for your phone, not for anything else. You wanna tether? Pay up. None of this is a secret...

Oh, and that "unlimited" connection you are paying for, it's not really "unlimited". Read the fine print on your terms of service about it.

So yes, it IS a matter of "suck it up". Maybe you shouldn't have turned off that DSL line so quick. Maybe you should have done some research instead of making assumptions.
