I feel with you, I really do, but you just have to live with it. You could try to call Apple, tell them you are a new customer switching over to Mac. They might give you a $100 refund if you are lucky.

I always try to be polite but I'm losing my patience now. How many people are going to complain about a problem that is by no means isolated to Apple? All tech companies do this and if this sours your perception of Apple, you may as well not buy any tech because all companies do this. If you had waited two months, whose to say a new bump in specs wouldn't happen two months for now? Would you still be frustrated?
If you continued to wait, you would never buy tech. Your attitude is one characterized by a dislike of technological progress. While you may not admit it, if it were up to you, Apple would only update their machines when it suited you.
