Is your MacBook still under warranty? If it is and the symptoms persist, make an appointment to take it in to your local Apple store or authorized dealer and have an Apple tech look at it.

As far as the screen issue is concerned, the attached JPG looks like all color is gone resulting in B/W. Could be anything from software to a hardware fault.
