I know the reasons they decided to go this route with the iPhone 3G. They needed a plastic shell for better wireless and silver plastic looks like crap. Being that all their computers are now aluminum does shake things up and gives me little ground to suppose they will stick with the color scheme. But I wonder what the chances are they will especially if they end up lowering the prices of the macbook as current rumors have it. Isn't the plastic cheaper then the aluminum or am I wrong?

Personally I like the aluminum. I think it's classy. But I also really like the stark white and black so I wouldn't mind either way.
I personally like the aluminum but I like the colors too. I think that Apple will do what they did with the iPhone and make it aluminum while still keeping the black and white plastics. On the bad side the colors segregate the computers from a value perspective, that's why my computer got stolen. Mine was the high end black macbook and most of the other people that I knew had low- end white macbooks. At the same time Apple laptops alone are more appealing and get stolen a lot. I'd like for the new ones to have shiny black plastics like the iPhone but I guess we'll just have to see what Apple does in the coming months.
