having problems with my MacBook's speakers!

ok so i have a macbook pro and when i watch videos online like youtube and mtv ect. the speakers mess up and sound really bad but when i watch a dvd or listen to music on itunes the speakers are crystal clear.. the same happens when i put earphones in. so if you could help that would be great!
