No, that is not an overheating issue. It is an issue with the inverter. Call up Apple and explain to them what is happing. They will run you through a few checks and such. They will advise you to take it to an Apple Store/Certified Repair Center to get the inverter swapped out. You can however opt for the "self instal" but they will make you sign off on an electronic agreement stating that if you mess up..its not apples fault and its your problem not theirs. The reason they make you do this is because the inverter is DEEP within the system..you will practically have to dismantle the whole machine just to get to it.
