Your other system components might be a bit of a bottleneck for a 7800. I suggest going with something a bit less powerful than the 7800 and upgrading your RAM to 1GB. Hardware enthusiast here - have to agree with Kash's assessment - have an X800 XL in my desktop, Although not when I purchased it, it is now a good value card if you can find it - don't play like I use to, but have thrown the last Tomb Raider and Far Cry at it, settings maxed and good frame rates for playing

Also, would recommend the X1600/1650 and the 7600.
