Your apache files are in Library -> WebServer -> Documentation ->

However copying files directly in to this folder may cause some security threats. If you know what you are doing it is fine. You can also point the browser to other directories such as /Users/UserName/Sites/ by configuring httpd.config which may be far more safer.

For testing purpose this may not be an issue.

Check out MAMP (Macintosh, Apache, Mysql, and PHP) project. It is a preconfigured server system with easy to understand documentation.
