I had the same problem.

Serial Number ranges effected:
* W8435xxxxxx - W8522xxxxxx
* QP435xxxxxx - QP522xxxxxx
* CK435xxxxxx - CK522xxxxxx
* YD435xxxxxx - YD522xxxxxx
Call apple and tell them you you need have an imac with a recall problem.
If you can you should want to shut it off untill you get it fixed. Doing the hard shutdown (hold the power button) will
ruin your harddrive.
I drove mine to the nearest mac athorizred retailer and he fixed it right up under warranty. If you know where a mac dealer is just drive it by.
