You need to have Numbers, Pages etc actually on your Mac. Can you Žemember paying for and downloading them through the MAS or have you a older version OS where you got Pages, Numbers and Keynote on a install DVD ??

If you havnt got numbers on your Mac you need to click on the Big Blue cicle in your Dock with the Big A in it and its called the Mac App Store. Then in the top right search bar of that App you need to type Numbers, Pages and so on and buy it through your Apple ID, and not until then will it be downloaded onto your Mac.

UYour question is very vauge so a bit more info on your problem as well as your Mac Spes and what OS you are running is always helpful.
