you may be going to hard drive>library>application support, while you need to go to homefolder>library>application support.
Thing is, Apple made the home library folder invisible.
Here's how to fix that permanently:
1) Launch Terminal, located at /Applications/Utilities.
2) Enter the following command at the Terminal prompt:
chflags nohidden ~/Library
