But just in case, if there is an instructional document to install the app, there might be more steps needed to install this particular app. But in most cases, you can just drag the app right over the apps folder without including all the other remnants, which came along with disk image. There's really no need to create a folder to contain the extras along with the app.
Sometimes its extras like... Plugins, add-on applications and other program documents for the main application.
