Hi tomlbarrow,

Equipment with a chip using back-side illumination can be prone to blooming because it has enhanced sensitivity to light.

The reset, that is referred to as being 'described previously', will not erase your data unlike a 'restore' which will.

It is certainly worth a try initially.
