Yeah, I figured a VM would be a nice and safe way to "insulate" the trials and experiences of people new to the CLI. As you well know, small mistakes can have catastrophic results.

The environments are 99% similar (give or take). Much of the basic stuff I plan on doing will centre around basic *nix tools that are common to just about every *nix platform.
