Open up the Applications folder in Finder, find the Firefox icon and drag it to the trash, you've now "uninstalled" Firefox..

Now, open up Safari and if you indeed designated Firefox as the default browser, Safari will put up a prompt asking to become your default browser, say yes and you should be all set..
