ME then why am I being singled out - well, you should look at the search...or learn to search. Wow, what a welcoming site!

You're not being singled out. It's common for new users not to use search that's why I mentioned it.

The bit defender keeps coming up when I turn on the power to my computer - that' s all there is. I do not have an install, an uninstall - it's all gone. I am left with an annoying tag where I have to turn the computer on, turn it off, then restart it ... to get rid of the bit defender tag. IF 3 APPLE GENIUSES COULDN'T HELP

Then all you have to do is download it again and use the instructions from the site I referred you to. The uninstaller package will be included. That should work.
If you tried deleting it without using or perhaps missed the uninstaller, just download the app again and this time use the uninstaller.
Let us know if it works for you.
