Yes, I keep it in my book bag for school, so that could be where it came from. Even then, I don't keep anything in my bag except for a binder that is like a pound in weight. But my father is going to look into it.
I won't be getting my hopes up for Apple covering the damage, so it would be fantastic if you could give me some other ways to get this fixed.
