It is not advised to remove the battery from an Apple notebook when using it from mains. The CPU is automatically throttled down in speed when the battery is removed.

It should not be advised anywhere else either as far as that goes... for any brand of modern notebook.

Also, the battery on the above '07 MBP is removable and user replaceable.
