I agree getting rid of cords would be neat. The only downside to the charging mat would be...when you remove the device from the mat it would always be running on battery power. If this is done 100% of the time...I can see batteries (as they are made today)...wearing out a lot faster...so battery technology would have to improve as well. Otherwise we would be buying a lot more batteries (at least when it comes laptop computers).
