my library stands at 2617 songs / 7.5 days / 15.7 GB
i didn't need to consolidate as iTunes organises my media for me, plus i have no duplicate files as itunes sorts that.
i also don't have any 3rd party plugins installed.
However, i use a custom graphic EQ setting & crossfade (although i have tried switching these both off to no avail).
