Have you tried trouble shooting the machine? Since you don't say anything further, it's difficult to offer ideas. When you say it doesn't come on, I'm assuming there is no power at all, screen doesn't light, etc. ?

Tried a new power adapter?

I assume you need the SN to determine if the machine is under warranty?

If you know who the previous owner was and still have contact, you may be able to get the SN that way. He/she should have registered it with Apple and that requires a SN.
