Xserve G5 revs up and reboots

Recently acquired Xserve G5, Dual 2Gig Processors, 2Gig RAM. Last week I had installed a SCSI card (the Apple approved card) to run Retrospect. In the course of the first backup the fans started to rev up real loud and then it rebooted. Downloaded and installed the Firmware update and during the next backup the same thing happened. A few times in the past we've had 150-170 users logged on and have had mysterious connection losses - i.e. reboots. A co-worker has a Power Mac G5 and reported that it does the same thing - she is a heavy user with many Apps running concurrently. Can find nothing about this. Any ideas/help would be appreciated
