I'm a musician (degree in piano performance) and I'm trying to learn to play the background piano music (exactly as played by the keyboard player) from a Dropkick Murphys soung. I'm usually quite good at hearing all the notes and just playing it. I'm having a hard time and I'm wondering if there is any way to listen to just the piano layer, such as in Garage Band or another program. Is it possible?

Thanks

I've been around commercial and classical music for a long time and I don't think it's possible (I've been wrong once or twice in my life :). With a lot of instruments or vocals you could use EQ to lower their level.
I've found with guitar that if I can't hear all the notes I just try to nail down the "feel" of the song and pick out specific notes as often as possible.
