Internet on my Macbook

I'm totally new to mac, I love it, never want to use windows again, but I'm forced because i cant get my internet working on my mac. I have broadband internet, sympatico, in order to make it work on my PC(loaded with XP) i needed to run the "create a new connection" wizard, i then had to put down my sympatico user name and password, it then made me an icon on my desktop that I could click to connect.

With the mac i'm totally lost, took me the whole day to get used to how different it is. I went to network and I ran the help thing, but no luck I just cant seem to make it work.

Anyone else had that problem? Or a link to help,

Thanks,

P.S awesome forum.

Are you running a wireless connection or wired.
My MacBook picks up any wireless signal like a PC would and with a wired connection I just plug it in and i've got internet.
Congrats on switching!
