Connecting while on the road

I will be traveling this week and would like to be able to connect to my Mac Pro from my MacBook Pro while on the road. I can't seem to find any *clear* details on how to do this. Any help here?

Unfortunately though, Back To My Mac has never really worked. Hopefully 10.5.2 may fix some of that.

I did not know that. Why is it still listed on their site? Seems a bit misleading.

I'll be darned... just came out today.

Too easy... just run a VNC server on your Mac Pro and connect to it using a VNC client on your MacBook Pro. A decent VNC client for Mac (and all Unix-like systems) is Vine 3.0, which is freeware and you can get at http://www.redstonesoftware.com/products/vine/server/vineosx/index.html

OK, I've gotten the Back to My Mac to work within the network. The screen sharing is great! Hope it works that well on the road. I'll find out tomorrow evening when I land at the motel.
