Hey guys,

I just got a 500 gb. wester digital external HD for my mac mini. It is connected using firewire 400.
I want to access this HD on a computer with XP Pro on it. Both computers are connected with a wireless router.
The mac can read and write files from my pc, but not the other way(read and write to the mac hard drive)

Another question:
I set the hard drive up with time machine and it is great, but should i partition it if I'm going to be putting files on it too? Is the fact that it is set up with time machine causing my difficulties?

thanks in advance,
joe

Sounds like you need to reformat the drive so that Mac can read and write to it. It is probably formatted NTFS at the momement. Fat 32 will fix that. But I may have missed the point of the question now I think about it.
