Whenever I play a mp3 file, itunes automatically imports it. v7.5 on my macbook...

How can i stop it from doing this???

i downloaded several ringtones to load on a sd card an itunes slurped all of them in. It's a pain to delete them everytime........

Thanks in advance if you can help.

Hold down either the Command or Option key (not sure which one) while dragging it into the library. It will however create a link in your library if you do that. To 'just play' tracks, I suggest you get Cog which is winamp-like...

You can also disable copying tracks to the library by disabling it in the Preferences of iTunes.
