installed airport card..now blank screen

hi guys I just insalled a new airport card in my girlfriends ibook g3 indigo clamshell. it stalled it according to the directions, and when i powered it back up the smiley face appeared then the screen went black anf the green power light is flashing below the apple logo under the screen and thats it. what went wrong?..why did it go blank and how do i fix it?...any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

There are lots of possibilities: bad card, bad installation, damaged System software. Pull the card back out, restart. Run Disk First Aid (I assume you are running System 9). Report back in!

ok..plugged it in now its fine but cannot get online...do i have to configure the card and run the airport software and if so..how?...thanks

If you are truely running 10.1.4. I would bring it up to the final release of 10.1.5.
