What did you get (if anything)?

It's fun to hear what some employers give their employees as a "bonus".

I got nothing.

The wife got a gift card for a frozen turkey from a specific grocery store that is 20 miles away.

Merry Christmas!

Congrats! Before or after taxes? That $400 can quickly become $240 if Uncle Sam gets his hands on it. :o

I received a $30 bonus but only got $18.99 of it. I guess I can't really complain because I only worked there about 4 months and I got the check on my last day (last Thursday).

I don't a bonus.
Every quarter if we make our mark we get a 2% bonus. We've only made it the first quarter I worked there (end of 2005.) The bonus is a over $300 after taxes.
It's something I cannot rely on but I think we might make it this quarter. I work for a professional photo retailer and 5 new high end DSLR's have come out in the past weeks/ months.

My g/f bonus was a weeks pay.

I used to get $10 gift cards to the local supermarket, yet another reason why I left and am now in grad school!

Nothing. I've no complaints though. While a bonus would be nice, I have no complaints over pay or benefits.

In the spirit of the holidays, one of my bosses put together little gift bags of dried sweetened cranberries and pistachios, and gave them to people working in her area. It's actually a nice combo. (I'm munching on some now.)

I'm a contractor so I don't get a bonus. It's ok though. ;)

We get a bonus, but it's not tied to the holiday - it's more of an incentive program to hit certain targets (like come in under budget, successfully complete certain projects, etc). If we actually meet the funding triggers, I'll see 7.5% of my salary usually the last week of February (much less after Uncle Sam gets his share :( ).

SO glad I'm moving!

As for a gift for them.... "I quit!"

No Christmas bonus. Our bonuses are paid-out in Feb. My last couple were between 4-5k (after the Uncle Sam tax @ the rape-me rate).

My brother got about £700, which I assume works out at at least $1300 USD?

Not bad for a 17 year old who has only been with the company 1 year !

We made a huge deal last week that I get 1,34% of sometime in january/february, should end on somewhere around $15000 before taxes, somewhere around $7500 after (yes we tax a freaking lot here in Norway).

But this doesn't really have anything to do with Christmas, for Christmas we got a cheap wine bottle...

well, my mom gets a bonus from the company my dad works for every year. Im sure my dad does too, but the owner always buys the CEO, pres, and VP's wife/husband a gift. this year my mom got a swiss army watch with diamond number placings and a mother of pearl back. not bad for not even working there. Dont know what my dad gets. Also, everyone in the company gets a ham and three bottles of wine every year.

this watch: (or one very similar) (http://www.swissarmy.com/Timepieces/Pages/Product.aspx?category=diamond&product=24849&)

Anyone hear about the bonuses at Apple headquarters? I heard everyone either got a Macbook or an iPod Classic. I think I will definitely be sending a resume to Cupertino once I'm close to graduating. Hopefully all these awesome gifts go to staff like accountants as well!

Well, at least you don't have state tax the rest of the year! Do you ever calculate how much you save by not living in another state and just smile?

I miss Florida! :(

I'm not sure if my work counted this as a bonus.. But they got every one a baseball cap of decent quality that says the store logo on the front and "Tweed" or "Madoc" on the back, depending store you work at..

Also, a blue "performance fleece" sweater jacket with similar markings.. Store logo and what town your store is in. In my case, it's Tweed.

My "bonus" would be working a 24-hour shift on Christmas day if I weren't on vacation. Go Navy, lol. On the other hand I really have no room to complain, after all, I am on vacation for Christmas. I do go back to work for the 27th and 28th, then I have the 29th off, 24-hour shift on the 30th, then I get the 31st and the 1st off. Not all that bad, all things considered... especially since I get paid even though I'm not working hardly at all this month. That, I suppose, is a benefit to a salaried job.
