does anyone know how to preserve the stroke widths when downsizingin illustrator?

ok...example ...

i have a logo. and i need 2 sizes. one 200mm one 30 mm.

i copy and paste the large version (the original) and hold down the shift key on my pc whilst i make the logo smaller.

looks FINE. but then i notice the strokes are all THICK and i have to manually make them thinner.
is there any easier way of doing this down sizing?
should i GROUP then free transform?

any suggestions welcome!

Here's how you do it.

Select the object you want to scale > double click the scale tool in the tools palette > check the "Scale Strokes and Effects" box > resize selected object.

Note: Object > Transform > Scale will get you the same dialog box.
