I tried to transfer my garageband application from my macbook to my G4 desktop. It says that it won't open without a valid library. what gives? is this copyright protection? is there a way around it?

I don't think the iLife apps are transferrable by just moving the .app file. That's why iLife comes with an installer. There's a lot of internal stuff going on there. Also, your G4 is PowerPC and MB is Intel, that might have something to do with it.

ive had this same problem
i havent found a way around it
i even copied over the library, and about the dozen packages that come with garageband to install it
the problem is, you need the actual disc to do it
i havent found a way to install manually
kinda lame
however, iLife is only like 70 bucks
and once you have the disc you can easily re-install if you ever run into any problems
which is always nice
sorry i couldnt be of more help
