Apple made 4:3 display ratio MacBooks instead of 16:10... Also, can you imagine a 4:3 ratio 15" and 17" MacBook Pro and Cinema Displays? Would you still get a Mac if Macs used 4:3 ratio displays instead of widescreens?
I would get a Mac any day over a PC. I don't care about the display aspect ratio.

If it was 4:3, then it wouldn't be 'cinema'. It would be a 'studio' display. ;)

Frankly I would love to see Apple come out with a free standing Cinema display that was the same dimensions as the display on the 24" iMac. I would buy that in a second!

Isn't that just the old standard aspect ratio before everyone started doing 16:10??

You mean, a 24" Cinema display? They make the 23"; close enough?

Me too. Right now I'm using a Dell 1907FP 17" as my extra display to my MacBook Pro.

fleurya, no I truly mean 24", like the current iMac. The 23" Cinema of today is not as bright nor as fast as the 24" iMac. Since Apple buys all the parts anyway, so as to make the 24" iMac, how much of a jump would it be to make the same monitor as a free standing Cinema display?

I worry that Apple may be backing out of the display business in the same way that it has backed out of the webcam business. I hope not though.
