Joystick configuration

Hi, I'm using a thrustmaster afterburner II on G5 system 10.4.11, flies fine in conjunction with the keyboard, however would like to know how to configure the joystick buttons to replace some keyboard commands. Can anyone help?
There is info for PC's but little for macs

Try a program called USB Overdrive. It's supposed to let you program the buttons on any USB input device to do anything you want.
