Macbook: 2.16 CPU/2GB RAM
Basically, it looks like a bunch of junk. Like almost like extensions

you need to open explorer. Goto Tools/Folder Options/View Tab/Under hidden files and folders check the do not show hidden files and folders. That will remove the faded files/folders you are seeing

MB White 160GB, 2GB RAM,
When you open the files which can be edited, MS makes a temp file and when you close it and changes are saved, the temp files are deleted. If they are not automatically removed, you can remove them manually but need a log-off/logon before you do that because the access locks on these files are not released sometimes and you might get "in use" error.
