Hi,

I recently moved to Mac and have a 24" iMac 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme with 2GB ram. I partitioned my hard drive to install windows and was wondering if there was some way to transfer all files, settings, programs, etc. from my old Windows PC to this partition without having to reinstall Windows, all the drivers, all my programs/games and redo all my settings.

Thanks,
Maco

I wouldn't recommend it. This is a different computer, thus different drivers are needed for starters. If you tried to actually restore a backup from a different computer, you'd risk causing all sorts of issues, if not outright damage. Just backup your important files (documents, pictures, etc) to an external drive and copy them over to the Boot Camp partition after a fresh Windows install.

Even if there is a way...You never want to transfer drivers/settings from one rig to another ... unless they are exactly the same ... motherboard, video card, etc.

Boot camp provides for removing the bootcamp partition. That doesnt mess up with OSX partition.

A quick read through the Bootcamp Assistant manual will answer most all of these type questions.
