Mac is making a new folder under my name, and messing up my settings O.o

This morning i logged into my computer and booted up firefox and allllllll my setting , bookmarks, saved password everything was gone, same with photobooth, imovie, safari, everything that wasnt on my desktop was reset. But when i deleted the folder , everything came back and worked....but it keeps creating another one of the same kind when i look in the user folder. someone pleeease help, its getting REALLLY annoying.

yes but then i tried renaming it again

That's a big nono, manually changing your home directory name. Here's the way Apple says it should be done.

i changed the name back, but the folder keeps appearing

Do a search on the forums, I think the only way to fix it is to reinstall.

You don't need to do a reinstall.
