Maxtor One Touch ????

I have a maxtor one touch but it is formated for windows NT file system.....


How can i make it formated for MAC... and use it with time machine? it says i can only read under the sharing and permissions under the info on the extrenal

if you need to format it you can do so under disk utility

Yes, I had the exact same problem with the exact same external drive. Make sure you first copy anything you want off the Maxtor drive, then use Disk Utility (under Utilities) to reformat. Time Machine should have no problem after that.

I just bought a Maxtor drive for use with Time Machine and also extra storage. I am trying to format it now, but wondered how you did yours. I don't know what option to choose:

Mac Format
Mac Format(Journaled)
Mac Format(Case Sensitive)
Mac Format(Journaled, Case Sensitive)

What are the differences and what should I choose? Thanks, and sorry to threadjack, but it seemed on the same topic.
